It’s only Wednesday and it’s already been quite the week for The Pokémon Company.
As I’m sure you’ll have heard, Game Freak was recently subject to a major leak which saw significant details about the upcoming Pokémon Legends Z-A leak online.
Like the cyber-attack that was launched against Rockstar Games back in 2022 and Insomniac Games last year, this is easily one of the most shocking leaks the industry has seen.

It’s a great shame because these types of leaks can hugely affect game releases.
You see, it’s quite obvious that DLC content was planned for Marvel’s Spider-Man 2 but it’s yet to surface.
Some believe that the Insomniac leak may have led to either its delay or cancellation, although this must be taken with a pinch of salt.
Still, it would be silly not to question how this leak might affect Pokémon Legends Z-A’s launch given that the leaker is reportedly in possession of a fully playable build.

Elsewhere in The Pokémon Company though, it’s business as usual with a new freebie unveiled for players of Pokémon Scarlet & Violet.
Take a look at the trailer for the upcoming Pokémon Legends Z-A below.
This newly introduced freebie will unlock for players on their birthdays.

When it’s time for you to open your presents and consume cake, so too will you unlock a Tandemaus in Pokémon Scarlet & Violet that’ll seemingly hang around for a year.
That’s not all as the ‘mon comes equipped with a unique move, the aptly titled Celebrate.
It’s not the most cutthroat of moves.
A present will descend from the sky, opening to reveal your newly acquired Tandemaus celebrating your birth.

The only catch is that, unfortunately, this feature has only been rolled out in Japan, Taiwan, and Singapore with Pokémon fans having to visit a real-life Pokémon Centre to claim their birthday code.
It’s a shame, but it’s not out of the question that in the future, an altered version of this treat could be launched worldwide.
If you’re eligible though, don’t miss out on this charming freebie.
