If you love old-school platform shooters from Capcom, then you’re going to love this news about five classic games that you can play on your Nintendo Switch for free.
Well, when I say “free”, what I really mean is that you get to play five classic Capcom games if you subscribe to Nintendo Switch Online, the red brand's answer to Xbox Game Pass Core and PlayStation Plus. The games in question are related to the ever-popular Mega Man series.

Nintendo Switch Online grants subscribers access to online multiplayer (which was free for a while) and access to a curated selection of Game Boy, NES, and Super NES titles as well as cloud saves, and more. Each month, Nintendo announces its latest inclusions and this month, subscribers will be able to play the Nintendo Game Boy versions of Mega Man: Dr Wily’s Revenge, Mega Man II, Mega Man III, Mega Man IV and finally, Mega Man V.
Advert
Out of all the retro Mega Man games on the Nintendo Game Boy, it’s perhaps Mega Man V that is viewed most favourable by fans but in truth, you can’t go wrong with any of the inclusions available with Nintendo Switch Online this June 2024.
“After another of Dr. Wily's failed attempts at world domination, peace reigns on Earth once more. Or so it would seem. During a peaceful stroll with his sister Roll, Mega Man is confronted by a powerful robot called Terra that drops out of the sky!” reads the synopsis of Mega Man V.
“This new enemy easily defeats Mega Man, then quickly dispatches an army of robots to conquer Earth. Waking up in Dr. Light's lab, Mega Man is given a new and powerful weapon to defeat the alien invasion: the Mega Arm. Now equipped to take down his enemies, Mega Man sets off to restore peace!”
Of course, you’re not just restricted to Mega Man with the Nintendo Switch Online subscription service because you have a whole host of classics from franchises such as Super Mario, The Legend of Zelda, and more. Furthermore, if you subscribe to the Expansion tier, you’ll have the addition of SEGA Mega Drive, Game Boy Advance and N64 titles.
