The Nintendo Switch 2 is basically the stuff of legend by this point, as we’ve heard whispers of the new console but never seen it with our own eyes.
Some lucky people were actually given the chance to touch it but not see it, and many claim to have insider knowledge of its specs, compatibility and design.

Whether these claims are fact or fiction is unknown at the time of writing and given how secretive Nintendo can be as a company, I’m leaning towards the side of speculation.

The latest rumour to come out for the Nintendo Switch 2 is it’ll be revealed very soon, possibly even this month.
Yesterday Chris Dring posted on X, saying “With industry whispers around ‘something’ Switch 2-related happening this month. I thought I’d remind everyone of the official list of the greatest games consoles of all time,” before saying the Nintendo Switch is the best home console.
There were no sources to back this claim up unfortunately, and when all you’ve got is rumblings in the community there’s a good chance it’s not actually true.
Nevertheless these kinds of announcements usually come out of the blue, and it’d be very fitting for Nintendo to drop a surprise Direct or trailer announcing its next piece of hardware.

That being said if they do announce the console this month, the next line of enquiry will be: When are we going to get it?
Consoles usually launch towards the end of the year, but it could be a little late to expect the console at the end of 2024.
The likely answer is it’ll be announced towards the end of this year with a release date of sometime in 2025.
