As thrilled as everyone is that a new Switch will soon be here, not everyone is convinced it’ll deliver the next-gen experience we want it to.
Not that such concerns will stop anyone from rushing to buy the Switch 2 once it’s here.
We might as well admire the new Switch 2 design while we're here
Whether they’ll be willing to buy it for the ridiculous price that one alleged seller is selling it for is another matter entirely.

User Icy-ConcentrationC took to r/NintenoSwitch2 to share screenshots between the “Chinese CAD model leaker” and a “black market seller”.
As per TweakTown, this conversation was held via Xiahongshu forums.
According to the screenshots shared, the seller will gladly part with the Switch 2, dock, and joy-cons for $39,780.
It’s an eye-watering amount, though one that’s intended for “accessory manufacturers that want to test their products on the new console”, according to seller, as reported by TweakTown.

Now comes the question of legitimacy; while the CAD leaker adds some credibility to this latest Switch 2 discovery, that’s where plausibility of this claim ends.
Still, while nobody can verify whether the seller genuinely has access to the Switch 2 and is selling it for just a hefty price, it’s got gamers riled up all the same.
“Jesus christ, 40,000 dollars... I know it's not meant for regular customers but god damn you can start a business with that money,” remarked MangiBoi.
User Masterkhan007 said, “Nintendo are going to go crazy over this lol.”

It it’s true, Nintendo just might.
However, given that this is allegedly taking place via the black market, the likelihood that anyone will be held accountable is minimal.
Even though the price shared isn’t its retail price, it’s led to gamers once again theorise how much the Switch 2 will be upon release.
