The Nintendo Switch 2’s price point is a hotbed of discussion, and unfortunately looks set to continue to be one.
New consoles aren’t known for being cheap, however, they’re often the more cost effective option when compared with PCs.
Still, in more recent years, there’s been a definite shift in the cost of consoles, with many gamers feeling priced out.

When the Nintendo Switch 2 was finally revealed, gamers were eager to learn as much information as possible, especially when it comes to its intended price.
Compared with other consoles, the Nintendo Switch is relatively cheap. But will that continue with the Nintendo Switch 2?

Despite Nintendo’s president, Shuntaro Furukawa, being keen to consider the “the affordability” Nintendo customers have come to “expect from Nintendo product”, that doesn’t mean the Switch 2 will be dirt cheap.
As per VGC, Furukawa also remarked on how important it was to take into account the “increased inflation rate”.
What is more, Nintendo will also need to consider the exchange rate. After all, much has changed since the launch of the Switch back in 2017.
It’s not an ominous update as such, however, it provides a cautious message about the possible price attached to the new-gen tech.

To try and prevent scalpers from unduly impacting the launch of the Switch 2, Nintendo is attempting to put as many measures in place as humanly possible.
“We will take all possible measures based on the experience we have accumulated to date (regarding scalpers and the like). We are making preparations,” the translation of an interview with Nikkei reads, per VGC.
Much like with the PlayStation 6 or the next Xbox, it’s wise to start saving to prepare for the eventuality of a steep price tag.
