We’re a little under two months away from the grand unveiling of the Nintendo Switch 2.
Let’s face it, last month’s original reveal didn’t exactly feature as much information as we perhaps all expected.
Nintendo did confirm the existence of Mario Kart 9, if that’s what the next entry is to be called, but otherwise, the short two-minute reveal video simply confirmed the leaked Switch 2 model to be real.

Please don’t get me wrong, I’m a fan of what we’ve seen so far; I don’t want you to think I’m underwhelmed.
It’s just that alongside the model reveal, I was hoping for some kind of confirmation on the console’s specs and features.
Thankfully, we at least know when to expect that information; at the Nintendo Direct to be held on 2 April.
It’s there that alongside the console’s specs, we’ll also hopefully hear more about its launch titles, release date, and pricing.

ICYMI: Take a look at the reveal of the Nintendo Switch 2 below.
Pricing is an aspect of the console that’s left many fans feeling a certain level of anticipation.
The general consensus is that the Nintendo Switch 2 is highly likely to cost more than its predecessor, which launched at $299.99 / £279.99.

The various ‘leaks’ have teased all kinds of Switch 2 prices, with many estimates exceeding £300 and some exceeding £400.
That’s all that these are though really, estimates.
We won’t know the console’s exact pricing until it’s revealed by Nintendo itself.
That being said, the company’s president has just offered some reassuring words on the topic.

As reported by VGC, in a Q&A following Nintendo’s Q3 financial results, Nintendo president Shuntaro Furukawa was asked about Nintendo’s hardware pricing.
He explained that Nintendo did have to take into account Japan’s increased inflation rate as well as the volatile nature of exchange rates which have changed considerably since the release of the OG Switch.
All of that being said, Furukawa said Nintendo remains focused on “the affordability that our customers expect from Nintendo products”.
He was unable to elaborate further on the price of the Switch 2 but I think we can all agree that even the mere utterance of the word “affordability” elicits a sigh of relief.
