It appears that the Nintendo Switch 2 has been seen behind closed doors at CES, and yet photos of it are now circulating online.
According to trends and word of mouth, the accessory manufacturer Genki were at CES with dummy units of the Nintendo Switch 2 and Joy Cons, which we can see very clearly on Twitter.
It's been many years since the launch of the Nintendo Switch and the handheld landscape is very different now
As many assumed, it’s very much a minimal redesign of the Nintendo Switch because, let’s face it, if it ain’t broke, don’t fix it.

Fan reactions range from joy to concern, but most seem to be happy that Nintendo is playing it safe and seem to be focusing on upgrading the experience rather than the hardware appearance.
“Looks ugly,” claims one fan.
Another user posts the complete opposite, simply saying, “Good!!!”
There are some legitimate concerns from players, though, with a lot of discussion about how the console will be received by the masses.

“I feel like it is going to significantly underperform, especially if Sony and MS announce handhelds in the next 18 months,” said one concerned fan.
Another says, “Will it be too much a copy of the switch that less people will care about it? Similar to the WiiU and 3ds?”
While it’s unlikely to “underperform” Nintendo is facing a very different market from the launch of the original Switch console.
Nowadays, it seems competition is rife from companies like Sony, Valve, and ASUS.

Of course, the fans just want Nintendo to announce the damn thing and get it over with.
You can see more of the Switch 2 in a video on Twitter, where fans are simply asking, “What are you doing Nintendo?”
“This console has got to be the worst kept secret in gaming history,” exclaims another Twitter user, and they’re right.
Here’s hoping Nintendo is seeing this and quickly planning a Direct presentation to make things official.
