Yesterday saw The Pokémon Company hold a showcase to celebrate Pokémon Day, and during the short presentation we got a much better look at the next big release, Pokémon Legends: Z-A.
During the trailer, we got to see our three starting Pokémon, a new battle system, as well as a good look at Lumiose City. And while the game wasn't formally announced for Switch 2, we'd put money on it appearing on the new console.
Pokémon Legends: Z-A will surely release for Switch 2
Personally, I thought it was a brilliant trailer, and the game looks fabulous, however the community seems to be torn after what they saw.

“I’m pretty underwhelmed,” says Sookie188 over on Reddit in a thread titled “Legends Z-A doesn’t look as good as I thought it would.”
Another Redditor comments, “The game jittering does not inspire me with confidence,” though some call this observation into question.
A fear about how the game will run is understandable, when Pokémon Scarlet and Violet launched they were plagued with visual bugs, glitches, and framerate issues.
“Honestly, I set my expectations too high because of that extra year. I think the game looks straight up bad,” says pokehedge97.

There are some who are hopeful that the game will be a joy to play.
Redditor cavalier_92 exclaims, “it doesn't put a damper on my excitement. I can't wait to play!”
We have to remember that the Switch is going to hold the game back somewhat, despite it’s almost guaranteed appearance on the Nintendo Switch 2.
Perhaps we’ll get an enhanced version for the new console, but for now, some fans will hold out hope that it delivers some great experiences.

Over in another thread, fans are thrilled with how the Pokémon actually look in Pokémon Legends: Z-A.
“I like these designs so much more. Realism and Pokémon don’t mix,” says soyboy_6257.
Another fan chimes in, saying they prefer how the developers have gone “all-in with the cartoon style and make it more cohesive.”
We’ll have to wait until we play it before praising the game, or indeed damning it, but I’m optimistic about this one.
