The launch of a new console should be a special time for everyone, but there are almost always scalpers waiting in the wings to ruin the vibe.
Since the dawn of time (or maybe a little bit after), scalpers have been there to buy up the latest PlayStation, Nintendo, and Xbox consoles before selling them on at inflated prices.
The good news? Nintendo president Shuntaro Furukawa has revealed the company has a cast-iron method to scupper scalpers once the Nintendo Switch 2 launches later this year.

In a Q&A meeting with Nintendo’s shareholders (thanks VGC), Furukawa offered up a simple plan: make so many Nintendo Switch 2 units that it'll be impossible for scalpers to find a foothold.
It's not the most complicated scheme, but it doesn't need to be. Certainly, fans hoping to pick up a Switch 2 at launch seem confident in the plan.
"There’s nothing I love more than seeing scalpers fail to sell their stock," one Reddit user commented.
Another added: "Nintendo are targeting 7.5 Million units for the launch alone. Which is absolutely insane. The Switch only had like 2.5 Million at launch."

"Just gotta hope it doesn’t totally flop and they end up sitting on 30 million unsold consoles," replied another user.
Given analysts are predicting a huge launch lineup for the Nintendo Switch 2 - including a brand-new Mario Kart - I think we can safely rule out any notion of the new console flopping.
We'll get our next good look at the Switch 2 and its first batch of games on 2 April. Not long to go now!
