Yesterday’s Nintendo Direct revealed so much more about the Nintendo Switch 2 console that it felt a little overwhelming - in a good way.
We got to find out a lot about the inner workings of the console, as well as the price point, release date, and when we can pre-order, and Nintendo also showed some prices for the games, but fans are not happy.
Mario Kart World was shown off at the latest Nintendo Direct.
I’ll admit, after sitting with the information for a while after, the prices do sting. Mario Kart World, for example, will have an RRP of £66.99 when purchased from the eShop, and £74.99 for physical copies.

Nintendo games have always held a premium price, as seen on the Nintendo Switch, but fans on Reddit are calling this jump in costs “out of touch”.
“Absolute s**tshow, Nintendo is so out of touch it's not even funny,” lambasts NarrowInterest.
One could argue that inflation has never really hit gaming over the years, however, with millions of gamers stuck in a cost of living crisis, it’s going to be harder to afford games.
“Nintendo’s ruining gaming as a whole with $80 Mario Kart, you know damn well everyone else will follow them and charge $80 for their bulls**t games,” said AnotherScoutTrooper.

One Redditor notes, “400 for the console is reasonable, but 90 for a game is crazy.”
This seems to be the running theme with players; the console itself seems reasonable, especially when you consider the number of upgrades inside the unit.
However, paying so much for games is going to cause many to pick and choose what’s most important to them.
One user pleads with the community, saying, “Please please please do not pay $80 for a f**king game.”

Those who were once hyped up for the console are now considering skipping it entirely, with one gamer summing it all up, “My interest in the console has evaporated. 90 bucks physical is insane pricing, what are they thinking.”
