Nintendo Switch 2 first game officially announced

It's a good 'un

The Nintendo Switch 2 is on the way with an official announcement expected to come soon.

With rumours of its potential name as well as what it may look like, the hype is building and definitely shows no signs of slowing down now thanks to the news of its first confirmed game release.

The news comes courtesy of My Time at Portia developer Pathea Games who have revealed that the next game in the series, My Time at Evershine, will be released on “future Nintendo platforms yet to be announced”.

Considering that the Nintendo Switch 2 has not yet been officially announced, we can assume that this is referring to the next handheld from the company.

Not only that but with My Time at Portia being a hit farm life sim RPG back in 2019, its sequel is bound to be a big seller when it comes to the Switch 2.

My Time at Evershine, which will also be released for the PC, PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X/S, is described as a “high-quality sandbox simulation RPG” which will see players embark on an adventure with many memorable characters.

With players taking on the role of a builder in My Time at Sandrock, in its sequel they will be tasked with becoming the governor.

Starting with just a campfire, they will soon need to learn how to develop and run their very own city as well as managing (and probably romancing) its citizens.

Not only that but it will include many more features than its predecessor, including a story-driven campaign, new art direction with motion capture, expansive environments and even multiplayer co-op.

All of this information comes courtesy of My Time at Evershine’s Kickstarter page which Patheon is using to raise funds.

"My Time at Sandrock cost a lot, like $12-million-a-lot, and still counting, we expect Evershine's budget to be somewhere in the ballpark as well," said Zifei Wu, creative director of the My Time series.

"Having extra funding at this early stage of development allows us to plan for bigger and better features, and allows the community to give us direct feedback while we're still deciding key elements of the game's design and execution."
