breaking news

It’s almost here, my friends.
Tomorrow, on 2 April, Nintendo will finally hold its long-awaited Nintendo Switch 2 Direct.
It was a couple of months ago that the company first unveiled the console in a short two-minute video.

It was arguably an underwhelming reveal, but that’s not because of the Nintendo Switch 2 itself.
The console’s design is wonderful; it’s simply that it had already leaked online so the reveal didn’t exactly bring anything new to the table other than confirmation of the leak.
Well, that’s not entirely true, it also teased the existence of Mario Kart 9.
It’s tomorrow though that Nintendo will properly usher in this new era, and the company has just confirmed the runtime of the Nintendo Switch 2 Direct.

Take a look at that original reveal below.
Tomorrow’s event will last for a whopping 60 minutes. Yes, a whole hour of announcements.
It’s suspected that we’ll hear more about the console’s specs, features, pricing, release date, and launch line-up.

As a reminder, the Direct begins at 2pm BST and will finish around 3pm here in the UK.
There’s more to come on 3 and 4 April though as Nintendo has also announced two ‘Treehouse’ events.
Essentially these are presentations “featuring hands-on gameplay of Nintendo Switch 2 games”.
These will be held at 3pm BST on both days.

That confirms then that we’re definitely getting launch line-up info in the main direct as some wondered whether it would be hardware focused only.
What games are you hoping for? A new 3D Mario perhaps? A Breath of the Wild remaster? New Animal Crossing?
Join us tomorrow where we’ll be covering all of the Direct’s latest headlines.
