We’re steadily inching closer to the full reveal of the Nintendo Switch 2.
While the console was initially unveiled back in January, Nintendo did little other than confirm what it looked like.
The reveal video did hint at a new Joy-Con mouse functionality, and the existence of Mario Kart 9 was teased, but Nintendo essentially refused to elaborate on anything.

It will happen eventually though, on 2 April to be exact at 2pm BST.
It’s there, during the Switch 2 Direct, that we’ll likely hear about the console’s specs, launch games, pricing and release date.
If those latter topics are touched upon, hopefully that means that pre-orders may even open up.
While Nintendo is holding its cards close to its chest in the meantime, that hasn’t stopped leaks from surfacing online.

In fact, one ex Nintendo employee recently spoke about the console’s likely launch date.
The latest tidbit concerns remakes, as it’s reported that the Nintendo Switch 2 will bring us several.
Take a look at the Nintendo Switch 2’s original reveal below.
While the Switch 2 will surely bring us a ton of new titles, so too should we expect to revisit some old favourites.

It’s widely believed that Breath of the Wild and Tears of the Kingdom, for example, will be remastered for the console.
Alongside that, we could see a classic Super Mario title remade.
As reported by ComicBook, leaker Mr. Nintendad is claiming that Nintendo is “working on Super Mario’s 40th anniversary” as 2025 marks 40 years since Super Mario Bros. launched in 1985.
As such, the thesis is that a classic title will be remade but the question is which?

I should stress that this is very speculative so do take this tidbit with a major pinch of salt.
I fully expect that Nintendo will do something to mark this colossal anniversary, but it could simply be a new title instead of a remake.
It would be nice to see Super Mario 3D All-Stars return, or perhaps we’ll finally get a sequel to Super Mario Odyssey.
I think, for now, we’re all going to have to sit tight.
