Over on Nintendo Switch, there is a bundle of games you can play for free. With some of them being among the best games for the console, from the landmark titles Nintendo is known for, to some of the more quirky games released recently.
There’s a great selection of games to play whether you’re looking for a platformer, RPG, or even fitness titles. All you need to play any of these games on your Nintendo Switch is an account to connect to the eShop and you can choose from a number of games.

Many of the games here are either free-to-start - we’re looking at games like Fortnite and Overwatch 2, or Disney Speedstorm if you want some racing rather then shooting. Or, others are demos that will carry over your progress to the full game should you decide to buy it after you’ve given the opening a try.

For example, you can start your journey through the colourful worlds of Sonic Frontiers and try to thwart new mysterious foes using the powers of the ancients. More platforming greatness is available with either Kirby and the Forgotten Land or Kirby’s Return to Dream Land Deluxe, both of which are visually gorgeous and delightfully retro in their playstyles.
Minigames feature aplenty with WarioWare: Get it Together, which will test your reflexes and make you laugh at the same time, while testing your brain with puzzles is on the menu with Big Brain Academy: Brand vs Brain.
Nintendo legends are available in Yoshi’s Crafted World, which sees Mario’s companion on his own adventure in a lush world inspired by knitted plushies; you can explore the Kanto region in Let’s Go, Pikachu! Or Let’s Go, Eevee; and lastly, why not visit Hyrule and fight alongside Zelda’s heroes with Hyrule Warriors: Age of Calamity? In all of these games you can start your adventure and carry over that important progress to the full game.
