The Nintendo Switch has a near-endless amount of demos on its eShop, and with how pricy some of these titles can be it’s definitely worth it to try before you buy.
There are a number of reasons why Nintendo Switch games hold their value over their time, mainly due to them being on cartridges rather than discs more than anything, so it’s nice that the digital store offers so many opportunities to play games for free.
Check out the trailer for Mario & Luigi: Brothership, which looks like peak Nintendo
At the time of writing there are 47 Nintendo Switch demos being highlighted by the company itself, though if I went through the whole list we’d be here for hours, so below are just a few titles I’d personally recommend giving a go.

First is Kirby: Forgotten Land, one of many Kirby games you can currently grab a demo of but this one is my favourite. It’s the first full-on 3D Kirby platformer combining tight controls, some stunning visuals and loads of fun power-ups, everything you’d want in a Kirby game plus you can play it with a friend.
In stark contrast to the sunshine and rainbows of the Kirby universe is Dredge, one of my favourite games to release in recent years. In Dredge you explore a vast ocean that sits at the heart of a love-craftian mystery, with loads of sea critters to catch and plenty of surprises along the way.
Keeping with that nautical theme is Sea Of Stars, a great shout for the more old-school gamers out there, or just fans of RPGs in general for that matter. Taking inspiration from classics like Chrono Trigger, Sea Of Stars offers an unforgettable experience, and if you have PlayStation Plus you can play it in its entirety at no additional cost.
Last but not least I’d recommend Metroid Dread, more so than ever following the first-look at Metroid Prime 4, as while the two are very different games there’s no doubt that they’ll both be remembered as two of the Switch’s best games.
