Legend Of Zelda: The Wind Waker returns in best-looking trailer we’ve ever seen

It looks so gorgeous!

The Legend of Zelda: The Wind Waker has never looked as good as it does in this stunning trailer.

Over the years, Nintendo has provided us with some of the best memories when it comes to our beloved video games.

From Super Mario, Donkey Kong, Pokémon, and much more. Now with the release of the Nintendo Switch 2, even more memories will be made for generations to come.

One other beloved Nintendo franchise is the aforementioned The Legend of Zelda, which made its debut on the NES all the way back in 1986.

Even for its time, despite the technical limitations of the NES console, it never stopped players from having an incredible sense of adventure thanks to the creative minds of Shigeru Miyamoto and Takashi Tezuka.

Now, nearly four decades later, fans still cannot get enough of The Legend of Zelda, whether it’s Ocarina of Time, Phantom Hourglass or Tears of the Kingdom, to name a few.

The topic of today’s discussion, The Legend of Zelda: The Wind Waker, was originally released on the Nintendo GameCube in 2002, and today, it’s still playable as part of the Nintendo Switch Online + Expansion Pack.

Working in video game retail at the time, I can remember so many customers complaining about the cel-shaded visuals of The Wind Waker.

I know it’s all about opinions, but I never quite understood the hate because I’ve always thought The Wind Waker is a visually stunning game, as well as being fantastic to play.

Thankfully, at least, it seems that perceptions about The Wind Waker have changed, and many fans appreciate it for the classic that it is, especially when it comes to playing its official HD remaster for the Wii U released in 2013.

That being said, it’s well over a decade since that Wii U port was released. As great as it is playing The Wind Waker on the Nintendo Switch 2, being a GameCube emulation, it’s not as visually pretty as it deserves to be.

While it doesn't look like a new remaster or remake is happening anytime soon, a talented indie developer has given us a glimpse of what it could look like.

The YouTube channel, 16-Bit Dreams, has uploaded a concept trailer for The Wind Waker remake, in the style of Breath of the Wild and Tears of the Kingdom.

What’s more, this is no emulation but rather a genuine remake created using the Unity engine. It should be stated that this isn't playable to the public, but it at least gives us a great indication of what an official remake could look like, if Nintendo decides to go that route with The Wind Waker.

“This is so good!” said Zeltik in the comments section of the YouTube trailer.

“I would 100% buy this on a launch if this were an actual game,” declared PastaSauce94.

“AMAZING!” yelled Siphano13.

“This lowkey looks like it’d be the best Zelda game ever,” exclaimed JerimiahWahl.

Hopefully, Nintendo will make this official one day, but I won’t hold my breath.
