Next-gen consoles are being teased by Xbox and PlayStation, though gamers think they’re coming way too soon.
The Xbox Series X/S and the PlayStation 5 released in 2020, which honestly feels like decades ago at this point but I promise it was more recent than you think. So far some incredible games have been released like God Of War: Ragnarok, Starfield, and Baldur’s Gate 3 to name a few.
Take a look at Baldur’s Gate 3 below
There’s plenty more to come too like the recently announced Indiana Jones and the Great Circle, The Last Of Us Part 3 has been teased, and who can possibly forget GTA VI. That being said, while there’s plenty of talk on the next AAA games to grace our systems there’s also talk of the next generation of consoles currently in development, and fans think they’re coming too soon.

Plenty of leaks, rumours and insider information have surfaced over the last few months including news on the next Xbox, which has a frankly wild design, in addition to the PlayStation 6 which might have a very controversial killer app.
In a Reddit post by IndividualRow2659 fans discussed how the current generation is moving a little too quickly for their liking, and how it “feels like only a few games came out and now there's talk about next-gen.”
One fan said “It is only last year that true Xbox Series X/S and Playstation 5 only games started to get released, the true potential of the current generation has yet to be fully optimised.”
Another added “Sony is for sure already drawing up plans for the PS6.”

Finally one fan said “Like you I had ps5 and series x at launch. I agree there hasn’t been anything “next gen” really.”
It’s almost guaranteed that if the next generation of consoles is on the horizon it won’t affect support for current consoles. That being said it would be another piece of hardware fans will have to buy if they want to experience the best new-gen gaming has to offer.
