An Easter egg about Hogwarts Legacy has been spotted in the mobile game Harry Potter: Magic Awakened, and fans are loving it.
Hogwarts Legacy is still as popular as ever, so much so that fans are disappointed it’ll likely lose Game Of The Year to the likes of other RPGs, such as Starfield and Baldur’s Gate 3.

That’s not to say it hasn’t put up a good fight though, as the game is one of the most successful bits of Harry Potter media to date, raking in more than the films and surpassing $1 billion in revenue. It’s not even done either, as Nintendo Switch players are patiently waiting for their version of the game, which is set to release on 14 November.

In the meantime, players are still exploring the School of Witchcraft and Wizardry, modding the game on PC, and patiently waiting for an announcement regarding Hogwarts Legacy 2, as well as writing their wishlists for features they’d love to see in a sequel.
Recently though, eagle-eyed fans spotted a reference to Hogwarts Legacy in Harry Potter: Magic Awakened, which calls out one of the game’s biggest shortcomings and also makes it canon.
The Easter egg was spotted by mjhruska on Reddit, who shared some in-game text from Magic Awakened which reads: “Someone added a note in the margin: ‘Season cancelled due to Headmaster Black being a prat.’”
This is a reference to part of Hogwarts Legacy’s story, as well as one of the biggest complaints surrounding the game, which explains why the player can’t take part in Quidditch matches. The real reason is obviously that Avalanche Studios didn’t include it in the game, but the story explanation is Headmaster Nigellus Black cancelled the sport due to a student injury.

“That’s so dope!”
“Whoa they took their excuse to not implement Quidditch and made it lore canon. Gotta hand them props for that. At least we have landing pads and balloons though.”
“There mobile game is really great. Wasn’t sure if I’d like the art style but it is fantastic. That’s a great connection between games.”
Hogwarts Legacy can be played on Xbox, PlayStation and PC platforms, and will be playable on Nintendo Switch in November.
