Uh oh, all is not well in the Hogwarts Legacy community.
A teaser for the sequel to the hit game should leave fans happy, but it’s done the opposite – some fans are now concerned for the future of the franchise.
This sudden division within the Hogwarts Legacy fandom is somewhat surprising, to say the least.

An official teaser for the sequel suggests a modern-day setting.
Done with Hogwarts? Maybe it's time for Harry Potter: Quidditch Champions instead
What is more, this change of setting will see elements of Hogwarts Legacy 2 and the upcoming HBO show combined.

It’s this marrying together of the two projects that has players most concerned.
Redditor lunarisita posted, “I'm sorry, but I don't understand the part about coordinating storytelling [...] I don’t want a game with the book storylines – I already have the books, the movies, the show, and the eight games. This was something original that we had.”
“I hate to be that person before it releases but if it is a game that runs alongside a show or if they go the set protagonist it would have to be an exceptional game, otherwise I would likely pass on it,” commented Clurachaun.
While some aren’t taking the news well at all, other gamers don’t understand what all the fuss is about.

“There was a huge amount of coordination that went into Hogwarts Legacy to get it into the correct place in the canon, so I don’t see why there is any issue with them coordinating for the sequel,” shared L4stEvenings.
Another user said, “Imagine if you get to play as like Lilly Potter or Tom Riddle. But I prefer being my own character. We shall see. I'm super excited, sequels are usually always better.”
The duality of man.
What happens next will either make or break this community.

Hopefully Warner Bros is aware of that, though we’re not certain they’ll be that fussed – the sequel will garner interest even if it flops.
All we know for sure is that the sequel is a-go, and that it’ll chart some unfamiliar waters when compared to the first game.
