Happy New Year folks, there’s a lot to be excited about in 2025 and a Hogwarts Legacy 2 announcement is at the forefront of Harry Potter fan’s minds.
Warner Bros hasn’t been shy about its intention to milk Hogwarts Legacy’s success as much as it can, already confirming a sequel will be released at some point.
Hopefully it’s worth the wait, as Hogwarts Legacy was a banger if you’re a Harry Potter fan, and was great even if you’re not
Personally I haven’t played enough of it, so it’s on my list of games I need to play in 2025, but I’ve heard from trusted Harry Potter fanatics that it’s a good time.

Warner Bros announced last year (feels weird to say that again), that Hogwarts Legacy 2, or whatever the sequel will be called, is “one of the biggest priorities” the company has in terms of video game output.
CFO Gunnar Wiedenfels said in an interview at the Bank of America’s 2024 Media, Communications & Entertainment Conference, that “there is certainly a significant growth contribution from that [games] business in our strategic outlook here.”
Warner Bros has also had games published from the DC universe, most notably the Batman: Arkham games, and more recently the Suicide Squad: Kill The Justice League game which I think we can all agree failed miserably.
Back to the topic at hand though, Harry Potter fans do want a new Hogwarts Legacy game,, but they don’t want it rushed out the door either.

“Let's hope they do not skimp on what they originally planned again” said one fan, alluding to a lot of the cut content from the previous game.
Others pondered what the game could even be about, with one theorising a good place to start would be the “Triwizard Tournament thrown in with some foreign dark lord antagonist.”
Who knows what’s on the cards, the important thing is we’re getting that sequel and might even get a teaser this year.
