It may only be just over a year since Hogwarts Legacy was released but it seems as though Warner Bros. has already turned its attention to a sequel.
First released in February of last year, Hogwarts Legacy went on to become one of the best selling games of 2023.

The RPG, which takes place in the much-loved Harry Potter universe, sees the player become a Hogwarts student, attend classes, play Quidditch and visit nearby Hogsmeade.

Although Hogwarts Legacy recently received a small summer update, there are no plans for any DLCs or expansions as of yet.
However, they may not be needed as Warner Bros Discovery CFO, Gunnar Wiedenfels has recently teased an official sequel.
"Obviously, a successor to ‘Hogwarts Legacy’ is one of the biggest priorities in a couple of years down the road”, he said.
Despite the news, it seems as though fans are quite mixed on this plan of action.

“Why not add DLC’s instead and expand the map?” One fan asked.
However, another fan thinks this will give Avalanche Software the chance to learn from its mistakes.
“I think it would be better to take what they’ve learned while developing Hogwarts Legacy and focus everything to get a good sequel and build up on that,” they wrote over on r/HarryPotterGame.
“As awesome as Hogwarts and the magic in Hogwarts Legacy is, the game itself is very lackluster and you can tell they were inexperienced with developing a game of this scale.”

With the general consensus being the call for a multiplayer mode, this is something we may see in a future sequel.
However, with Hogwarts Legacy being just over a year old, it may be a while until we see Hogwarts Legacy 2.
