After the success of Hogwarts Legacy, a sequel has never really been in question. That said, its setting has.
Even though Harry Potter fans enjoyed exploring the mysteries of the past in Hogwarts Legacy, not everyone wanted to stay there come the next game.
It would seem those who wanted something new, something modern, will get their wish.

Being able to hit such a monumental milestone allows Warner Bros to see the huge untapped potential in the series.
Part of this discovery has been to better understand what fans want from Hogwarts Legacy 2.
With the sequel being a “very big priority” for Warner Bros, the focus is on what fans are looking for from this experience.
“We have known for some time that fans are looking for more things in this world, and so we’re spending a lot of time thinking about that,” commented Warner Bros’ president of interactive entertainment, David Haddad.

This would seemingly include combining the sequel with elements from the upcoming HBO show.
Consequently, we’d see Hogwarts Legacy 2 set in the modern day.
Haddad added, “The rest of the company was very curious about what we helped to unlock with Hogwarts Legacy last year.”
Just how much the TV series will influence the sequel is still unknown to outsiders.

That being said, it’s comforting to know that Warner Bros is dedicated to creating a sequel by listening to its fans.
This so-called “major Potter push” hasn't quite reached its peak yet, but it’s not far off.
Hopefully when we return to Hogwarts, we will like what we find there...
