We know there’s worse news in the world to be upset about, but please allow the millions of Hogwarts Legacy gamers to mourn this loss in whatever way they see fit. Knowing they’re being denied access to the sequel is not an easy pill to swallow.
Despite many players still exploring the halls of Hogwarts, waiting for the delayed DLC to finally drop so we can all experience its spooky joy rather than a select few, some fans are looking ahead.
Sadly, it’s not a future that’s bright for millions of gamers who are just learning that Hogwarts Legacy 2 will be unplayable for them.

The full magic of Hogwarts Legacy still hasn't been discovered yet
Before anyone claims we’re making unreasonable assumptions, let us judge the facts thus far. Firstly, Hogwarts Legacy faced issues during the developmental phase because last-gen consoles held it back. And secondly, the expected release date of the sequel is much further away than we all first thought. Consequently, any hopes that the game would launch on last-gen consoles just went out the window, and with it, millions of would-be players.
It's grave news indeed. Although not exactly shocking considering that the PlayStation 5 is already in its “latter stage”, according to Sony. Therefore, the possibility that our tired PS4 and Xbox One can handle a game like Hogwarts Legacy 2 is a foolish dream we all need to wake from.

But let’s focus on some positives here; the fact that the ideal protagonists for the sequel are already right in front of us, for one. Then there’s the fact that the magic of Harry Potter can remain alive in awesome DLC available for other whimsical wonders, thus ensuring that the magic never dies even if our old consoles do.
We know it won’t make missing out on the sequel and/or saving for a new console any easier to come to terms with, but at least there are silver linings still to be found. You just need to really search for them.
