There are many elements of GTA VI that’s concerning fans, but it’s eventual cost is one of the more pressing aspects.
We’re coming up to the one-year anniversary of GTA VI’s first trailer, yet despite that milestone, we still know very little about the title.
Although recent delay fears have seemingly been put to rest, another concern keeps on rearing its ugly head.

Fancy watching the GTA VI trailer to check for additional secrets?
Rockstar fans are worried about the price of the new GTA, and it’s causing quite a stir among the fandom.
The controversy comes after Baldur’s Gate 3 developer, Michael Douse, spoke about video games needing to be priced based on their “quality, breadth and depth”.

Douse added, “Almost all games should cost more at a base level because the cost of making them (inflation, for one) is outpacing pricing trends [...] Everyone’s just waiting for GTA VI to do it lol.”
Without setting the cat among the pigeons further, this intended model would be far more difficult to regulate, with costs ultimately ending up higher than most consumers can afford.
At least, that’s the issue bugging GTA fans.
“I don’t think the average person is gonna pay $100 for a game though,” argued Reddit user Resident_End_2173.

Another said, “If it ever reaches a point where I’m paying 100 dollars for a game I’m throwing away all my gaming sh*t.”
Little extreme but we understand their sentiment.
“Annoyingly though GTA VI could set a £150 price tag and still be the best selling game of the year,” remarked 420NugShareBox.
The cost of GTA VI is going to be a sticking point even after we’ve seen the launch trailer and know its actual price tag.

Yet, that isn’t stopping fans from planning mass holidays in preparation for its 2025 release.
Perhaps if we knew more about this game besides speculation, we’d be able to quell all the drama surrounding its content, price, and release...?
