GTA 6 fans warned to brace themselves for a delay

GTA 6 fans warned to brace themselves for a delay

It feels inevitable

Nobody wants to hear how probable a GTA VI delay is, especially when we’ve been counting down the days to 2025 to finally be in its release year.

Unfortunately, a delay is looking more likely with each passing day.

An insider has come forward to reveal that nothing is going to plan behind the closed doors of Rockstar Games.

Social media user @Mvbrr has shared regular “updates” regarding the different development stages of the title.

Each of their tweets have been translated from Portuguese to English, though you can read the original posts if you so wish (they’re linked in this article).

Prior to Rockstar’s radio silence before Christmas, this individual had shared that the second trailer was coming soon.

We have one GTA VI trailer at least

But now, the trailer is only “practically finished”.

Most GTA fans had assumed the trailer was ready to go and they were just being unfairly strung along.

It turns out, the original release date was scheduled for spring 2025, with the previous estimate for the second trailer drop in December based upon that.

Obviously, as we currently know, autumn is when Rockstar is meant to launch the game, and thus, the second trailer not being ready might not be as shocking as we think.

Still, there’s enough information here to cause concern.

User @Mcbrr didn’t stop there with their claims though.

Apparently, an “internal delay” has been known among executives for some time, however, this information wasn’t initially passed on to other departments.

Rockstar will purportedly give a “possible update next month”.

GTA VI fans were already convinced a delay would happen, with these new details seemingly confirming their fears.

Before we assume the worst though, we’ve yet to hear from any official source that the game will be delayed.

Although being prepared for such news is practical, it’s also wise to wait until an announcement is made before picking up your pitchforks.

If the leaked gameplay we’ve seen is actually content from the game, maybe a delay is best for everyone.

We dread to think how rough the internet will be if GTA VI flops.
