The Fallout series will be returning early next year, but it won’t have anything to do with Fallout 5.
As previously stated by Bethesda exec Todd Howard, Fallout 5 won’t be released for quite a while. The next entry in the series is scheduled to enter development following The Elder Scrolls VI, which will be the developer’s next project after the release of Starfield later this year.

While this may come as a disappointment for fans, most are content with previous Fallout titles, especially since they’re regularly updated with new gameplay mods, as well as entirely original quests and expansions.

If you’re desperate for something more official though, you may be interested to hear that Fallout will be becoming its very own expansion for the popular tabletop card game, Magic: The Gathering.
That’s right, as part of the Magic: The Gather’s Universes Beyond expansion, several alternate universes will clash with Magic, including Bethesda’s post-apocalyptic RPG series.
Recently Magic: The Gathering has featured several well-known franchises as card expansions, such as Doctor Who and The Lord Of The Rings, with the latter boasting a one-of-a-kind “The One Ring” card that was recently bought for $2 million.
The news was announced by the game’s publisher Wizards of the Coast in a recent livestream, which confirmed several expansions that’ll be coming to the game early next year. Aside from Fallout, Assassin’s Creed and Final Fantasy expansions were also teased.

While it’s not the AAA game release many of us were wanting, it’s nice to see the beloved series featured in something other than a video game, hopefully capturing an entirely new audience as a result. In other news, the Fallout TV show is still on the way, and it looks fantastic.
The Fallout expansion for Magic: The Gathering is scheduled to release during the first quarter of 2024.
