Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 3 to reward players with freebie following troublesome launch

Finally, a reward for enduring such a difficult start

As much as we sound like a broken record, it bears repeating that the launch of Call of Duty: Modern Warfare III hasn’t been great. A fact that the devs seem to be aware of as it’s announced players are to be rewarded with a freebie following such a troublesome and awkward launch.

It does seem a little odd that we’ve gone from being told that the launch went “great” to now hearing an admission of issues, but that’s a separate article in and of itself. For now, let’s look at the freebie on offer and why specifically it’s come about.

Listen to what else the Modern Warfare III dev have to say!

Call of Duty devs have admitted that one of the more pressing issues since Modern Warfare III’s release is Battle Pass XP. Inconsistencies have dogged this aspect of gameplay, with many fans taking to social media to voice their unhappiness (as is the gamer way). Well, it’s said that compensation in the form of a refund will be given to all players affected by this… once a patch for that issue has been released.

Fortunately, that patch is said to already be in circulation as of last week, with the devs having worked on this behind the scenes since launch. Obviously, it was a known MWIII issue, perhaps one that should have been dealt with prior to the game coming out…?

Either way, the patch has been “rolled out,” with those plans to “retroactively grant players the XP they would have earned for time played in matches from launch” going into effect soon. There aren't details of when specifically, but we assume sooner rather than later.

According to The Loadout, your refund amount will vary depending on the amount of time you’ve put into the game, so don’t go expecting a greater freebie than what you’re entitled to. Sorry, but them’s the brakes.
