Fallout 5 can wait, the OG Fallout remake has finally landed

Time to revisit a classic

We may be waiting quite a few years until the arrival of Fallout 5 but thanks to one amazing team, we now have something to make the wait a whole lot easier.

With Bethesda hard at work on The Elder Scrolls 6, it seems as though the next entry in the Fallout series is on the back burner for now.

There are also plans for Fallout 76 in this new launch trailer below!

With Fallout 5 not expected to arrive for the next few years, it is down to fans to find a way to pass the time and that is exactly what the team behind Fallout: Vault 13 has done.

Fallout: Vault 13 is a fan remake of the very first Fallout title which was released way back in 1997.

Created using the Fallout 4 Creation Engine, it aims to recreate Fallout but with a more updated look and not only is it free to download, but its demo is now available.

Fallout: Vault 13 is around 1/3rd of the size of Fallout 4’s Commonwealth area and will allow players to explore Vault 13 itself as well as Vault 15, Shady Sands, The Khans and numerous other iconic locations around the wasteland.

Allowing players to explore tons of indoor and outdoor locations, this mod is pretty much a total conversion of Fallout and is on the same scale as the recently released Fallout: London.

The download link for this ambitious mod can be found in the modding team’s official Discord server and with almost ten thousand members, it is safe to say that this mod is a popular one.

Development for Fallout: Vault 13 has been ongoing for quite a few years with the team releasing a video showcasing the Shady Sands area back in 2022.

Even back then, fans were eager to get their hands on the Fallout remake.

“Please for the love of God do NOT cancel this like all the other mods this scale do. We NEED THIS,” one comment read.

Another said: “Dude I have no clue what Bethesda is doing up there with all those billions under their roof, but you guys really put companies like that to shame... Bless you guys.”
