September’s Nintendo Direct was chock full of major news. We finally discovered that ‘Breath of the Wild 2’ is actually The Legend of Zelda: Tears Of The Kingdom - plus the game got a brand new trailer. It was also announced that the award-winning It Takes Two would be landing on Nintendo Switch alongside a bunch of Resident Evil games.
Nintendo also revealed that a bunch of retro titles would be added to Nintendo Switch Online. At the time, most of the fanfare surrounded the fact that GoldenEye 007 was one of them but personally, I’m more excited about the addition of Mario Party 1 and 2 and the good news is, they’ve finally arrived and are now available to download.
Speaking of Mario, check out The Super Mario Bros. Movie trailer below.
Released to the N64 in 1998 and 1999 respectively, Mario Party 1 and 2 are certainly a blast from the past. I for one, cannot wait to challenge the rest of the GAMINGbible crew to a round of ‘Hexagon Heat’ and yes, I shall maniacally cackle as they fall into the lava. I also have to shout out ‘Bumper Balls’ which I think could make for some very entertaining battles indeed.

That’s not all, because there is more Mario Party on the way. We also know that Mario Party 3 will be added to Nintendo Switch Online but this will take place in 2023. Still, I’m already counting down the days until I can play ‘Eatsa Pizza.’ Whether it be virtual or real, a game that involves eating pizza is a game for me.
In other Mario related news, Nintendo recently released the first trailer for the upcoming The Super Mario Bros. Movie starring Chris Pratt. His take on Mario’s voice may be .. unique .. but Jack Black’s Bowser has already proved popular with fans so we’ll focus on the positives.
