Nintendo quietly unveils gorgeous new console you can order now

In case you needed an excuse to spend more money on a console you may or may not need, this upcoming Nintendo release is about to help you decide.

Last month saw Nintendo announce the upcoming release of Legend of Zelda: Echoes of Wisdom, the next entry in the Legend of Zelda series which will see players finally get to take on the role of Zelda herself.

With an art style similar to 2019’s remake of The Legend of Zelda: Link's Awakening, the Nintendo title is one of the most anticipated games of the year and is set to release in just a few months on 26 September.

Alongside the reveal of the highly-anticipated entry, Nintendo also announced a brand-new ‘Hyrule Edition’ Nintendo Switch Lite console which you may need to grab ahead of waiting for the upcoming Nintendo Switch 2.

Also arriving on 26 September, the new Switch edition is adorned with a Hyrule crest on the back but is most notable for being plated in a shimmering gold colour that is going to be hard to resist.

Ahead of its release, pre-orders have been made available at select retailers with its latest offer being courtesy of Best Buy for US customers. Those eligible can order it for $209.99 and the bundle comes alongside a 12-month Switch Online + Expansion membership.

Customers in the U.K. can order the ‘Hyrule Edition’ switch courtesy of Game where it is currently retailed at £209.99. Although it is one per customer, this also comes with a year’s free membership to Nintendo’s online service.
