Netflix’s Harry Potter collection includes a major, well-received update - and it’s awesome.
Recently, all the Harry Potter movies made their way onto the Netflix streaming service, and don’t I know it? Despite owning the box set in 4K, my wife and son haven't stopped watching them. I swear, at times there’s a Harry Potter movie being played upstairs and downstairs simultaneously. Anyway, let’s get back on track.
The Harry Potter movies on Netflix are just more than the standard releases, as they come equipped with a well-deserved update, and what is that, I hear you ask? As reported by watchtowatch.com, the feature in question is an audio description, a feature that is vital to those who are hearing impaired.

The audio description does feature on Harry Potter DVDs and Blu-rays, but unfortunately, it’s not a feature available to all series and movies on Netflix. However, it is something that the streaming service is actively working on.
“It is available for most Netflix original titles and many other TV shows and movies,” reads the Netflix help page. “We are always working with studios to make them available for more titles. on a title's details page. Some TV shows may not have Audio Descriptions available for all Seasons or Episodes.”
Blind content creator SassyWyatt expressed her delight on Twitter in regard to the vital Netflix feature. “Harry Potter is now on Netflix with audio description and subtitles! We love accessibility!” she tweeted. Hopefully one day, Netflix will be able to roll out this feature for all its series and movies. Fingers crossed.
