Harry Potter’s HBO reboot has found itself a Hagrid, and the fans are loving who it’s gone with.
So far the talented actors joining the new Harry Potter have been inspired choices, with the likes of Paapa Essiedu as Severus Snape and John Lithgow as Albus Dumbledore.

We’ve still got a long way to go though, as it’s going to be a big cast list and so many characters don’t even appear until much later in the Harry Potter series too, so we’ve got quite the wait ahead of us.

What we do know now though via Deadline and a sneaky tease on Instagram is that Nick Frost is in talks to play Hagrid in the series, a very important character as he’s a bit of a mentor to Harry and the gang as well as a very good friend.
You may know Nick Frost from the comedy series Spaced, or the Cornetto Trilogy films like Shaun Of The Dead.
He’s certainly the right pick for this role, and given how he’s been fancast as the character for weeks you can imagine fans are ecstatic that it’s finally happening.
Taking to a Reddit thread discussing the news there was an outcry of joy from the comment section, with several replies reading things like “I approve of this casting choice!” and “This was my fancast since day one”

“Now, THIS is a perfect casting choice!” stated others, as well as saying there could be “no one better” to play the character.
Of course many are also keen to see Nick Frost reunite with his old comedy partner, like one comment that said “I’ll repeat myself from the last time this came up……Simon Pegg for Arthur Weasley!”
Who knows if it’ll happen but I hope it does, Simon Pegg is a great actor in his own right so it’d be fantastic to see these two reunite albeit briefly.
