Call of Duty: Modern Warfare II might be getting one of its most requested game modes soon, so if you even slightly felt like its hooks were loosening out of your skin, it's about to bring you back with a vengeance.
Sadly, the free trial for the game has now ended, however, it is on sale through Steam which is in fact the first proper price drop that Modern Warfare II has gotten since its launch in late October.
This won't surprise you but it hasn't been smooth sailing for the game in spite of those splendid reviews at its release. Only a few weeks ago was Ground War winding players up for failing to integrate the feedback from the entry that was released in 2019. Then, Shoot House and its invisible walls plagued the multiplayer, and the CDL Moshpit playlist only went live at the start of December.

There is some cheering news on the horizon, though, according to Insider Gaming. Leaker @codsploitz_imgs recently shared screenshots of ranks, rules, a mode overview and a breakdown of all the tier and rank emblems for the upcoming Ranked mode in the game. These were removed in the wink of an eye by Activision which issued DMCA takedowns, but Insider Gaming did secure these images before they disappeared and independently verified them.
The Ranked mode is anticipated to touch down in early 2023 and with these screenshots, we're able to ascertain how it's all going to shake out. Following the rules and content available in the Call of Duty League and using a f4v4 format, ranked players earn SR for their games and this delineates which rank they will be awarded. Those who win three matches on the trot will gain a Hot Streak and their emblem will be on fire for as long as they maintain their success. Rank is permanent, however, the seven Skill Divisions will change across the seasons.
