To use aim assist or to not use aim assist, that is the question. For many Call of Duty: Modern Warfare II players, using this option has basically been a given since launch, as it's so dang good at doing what it says on the tin.

The feature is meant to help those using a controller shoot with greater precision - since the game features cross-platform play, it’s there to make competition between players using a mouse and keyboard and those using a controller seem more fair. Unfortunately though, it might have done the opposite - as reported by GamesRadar+, many players have been complaining about how overpowered it is.

Before we get into it, check out some gameplay footage from Modern Warfare II below.

Some video clips have been circulating online of players demonstrating how much of an impact aim assist has on gameplay, which has sparked discussion regarding whether some changes should be made to it. The general consensus is an overwhelming 'yes'.

“Honestly aim assist as it is now is just so easy for people who understand it to exploit. They need to dial it back to how it’s supposed to work (slowdown etc. when tracking enemies) so it still helps controller users, but get rid of this automated tracking s**t,” Reddit user eaeb4 wrote. “Problem is because it senses players even through walls so if you are behind a wall it already starts to aim onto you and the player didn’t even see you yet,” added XtremeshoX. “Worst part is, as a PC player I can't even disable crossplay. That's just wrong,” replied Digital-Aura.

Aim assist isn’t the only thing annoying the CoD fanbase - some have been complaining about the amount of new players who think that Ghost is hot, which I can’t believe is a real sentence I’m writing.
