Just in case your life was lacking in spooks, one upcoming (and pretty terrifying-looking) survival game might have just what you were looking for. It definitely will if what you were looking for consisted of zombies and aggressive bears.
Mist Survival is “a single-player, survival stealth sandbox game” from indie developer Dimension 32 Entertainment, in which players will be thrown head-first into an apocalyptic pandemic (where have we heard that one before?), but the virus isn’t the only thing you’ll have to survive. Players will have to fight off wild animals, brace themselves to face environmental conditions, and find shelter and food in order to live.
Take a look at the Mist Survival early access trailer below to see the game in action.
“Players will experience dense mist that can happen at any time. The dense mist environment is accompanied by certain events, such as the infected people [going] around to find [prey]”, the game’s synopsis on Steam reads. “People who are infected and mutated will be able to come out outdoors at night or when there is no sunshine[, which] means they can also hunt players while the fog is covered.”

The game has been in early access since 2018, but recently received a really chunky update which fixed a load of bugs and added some fresh features, including a trade system, new weather events, and three new zones on the map. It’s also been confirmed that a co-op mode is in development, as well as full controller support, but these things are works in progress.
