Minecraft just got a new expansion we've been begging for

Minecraft just got a new expansion we've been begging for

A good hit of nostalgia

Two of the most iconic games of all time are joining together in a crossover we just never saw coming.

Fans of Minecraft who also happen to be a fan of retro title Tetris are in luck as the two titles are coming together in a collaboration which is available to purchase right now.

Check out the trailer for Minecraft's Trails & Tales update below!

The Tetris update can be added to any Minecraft world and will see players have to battle with falling blocks after powering up the Tetrimino generator.

Players will have to mine these blocks to collect Mino Shards which in turn can be used to create brand-new tools and items inspired by the retro game.

For example, you can make the Line Clear Hammer which, much like the best Tetris players out there, can clear a whole line of blocks out in one hit.

However, in typical Minecraft fashion, there will also be new enemies to look out for including the Tetrimonsters who can spawn from the falling blocks.

It’s not all bad though as these new monsters can be tamed and even ridden by players if they are feeling brave enough.

As well as brand-new weapons and items, players will also be able to use the new materials to craft mounts, which according to Mojang, “can both jump impressively high, and set sail at incredible speed.”

The cost for the Tetris collaboration is 990 MineCoins and its trailer can be found here if you wish to check out all the new content and items.

Not only that but fans of 80s Tetris may hear a familiar tune mixed in with the Minecraft soundtrack as the original and very famous soundtrack has also made a return.

So whether you are a fan of the retro title or not, this brand-new expansion for Minecraft will offer tons of new content as well as a hint of nostalgia for the older ones amongst us.
