Things are looking excellent for Mass Effect 5, according to a new update from the team at BioWare.
It feels a little unfair to be thinking about Mass Effect 5 already, especially since BioWare just released Dragon Age: The Veilguard, a game which is enjoying rave reviews (we gave it a 10) and record player numbers (oops sorry grifters).
But gamers are unable to keep their minds on the present for long, and so it is that a lot of them are already looking forward to BioWare's next game: the new Mass Effect.

The latest on the new Mass Effect is rather bittersweet, especially if you're fans of both Dragon Age and BioWare's sci-fi RPG series.
As it turns out, BioWare has no plans for DLC for the new Dragon Age, for the simple reason it wants all hands on deck for Mass Effect 5.
On the one hand, it's kind of a shame we won't get any DLC for The Veilguard. On the other, it's rare to get a truly complete game on launch these days (especially from EA), and I'm incredibly keen to get the next Mass Effect in my hands as soon as possible, so I've no issue sacrificing DLC.
The general consensus certainly seems to be that this is a good move.

Windows Central editor Jez Corden tweeted: "I'm weirdly happy about this. Andromeda burned me SO HARD with its incomplete ending."
"I got the impression they put everything into the game to give players a complete story. Which is great, really," another Twitter user added.
As for when Mass Effect 5 actually releases? Well, I wouldn't hold out too much hope of seeing it this generation. Hell, we'll be lucky if it releases before the end of this decade.
For now, we have a whole new Dragon Age game to enjoy! So let's focus on that, shall we? Yeah.
