Reddit users have been discussing a secret in Mass Effect 2 that we all would have initially missed but for a good reason, and I’ll explain why.
The Mass Effect series from BioWare is one of the most beloved RPG franchises of all time and it’s the same studio that brought us the likes of Baldur’s Gate, Star Wars: Knights of the Old Republic, Jade Empire and much more. However, perhaps the best entry in the Mass Effect series is the 2010 sequel.
Check out the Mass Effect Legendary Edition trailer below.
“Are you prepared to lose everything to save the galaxy? You'll need to be, Commander Shepard,” reads the synopsis of Mass Effect 2. “It's time to bring together your greatest allies and recruit the galaxy's fighting elite to continue the resistance against the invading Reapers.”

Other than being a fantastic series that immerses you with its sense of intergalactic exploration and gripping stories, Mass Effect also features some beloved characters, some of which will become loyal companions throughout the entire original trilogy. One of the new characters introduced in Mass Effect 2 is the topic of today’s discussion and has an interesting secret or more accurately, a neat coincidence.
That character in question is the Asari named Samara who, without giving much away, has a daughter that she is very angry with. So what’s this secret related to Samara, I hear you ask?
The actress who plays Samara in the English-speaking version of Mass Effect 2 is Maggie Baird who is the mother of Billie O’Connell, aka the singer and songwriter, Billie Eilish. To be fair, if you didn't know this detail, there’s a good reason why.
Mass Effect 2 was released in 2010 and Billie Eilish didn't make her big musical debut until five years later in 2015. Nonetheless, fans on Reddit are still pleasantly surprised with this secret.

“I didn't know that,” replied mattpkc with kaloonzu adding, “Well, I'll be damned. I’ve played ME2 since launch and I didn't know that.” Silverlitmorningstar said, “I had no idea her mother was a voice actress, that's wild."
Mass Effect 2 is out now on PC, PlayStation and Xbox. It’s also included in the remastered trilogy, Mass Effect Legendary Edition and if you’ve never played this series, you need to change that ASAP.
