Mass Effect players aren’t quite sure how they’ve missed this secret for the last 12 years.

Since then, we’ve spent our time either waiting for Mass Effect 5 updates, exploring the grim realities of alternate endings, or waiting for new releases.

Reddit user and ME fan, No_Organization_3311, has discovered a new Citadel secret after 12 years.
Sharing a screenshot of their find from their latest playthrough of the ‘Citadel’ DLC, the OP revealed a neatly wrapped present hiding behind a container.
If you’re not one for exploration, it’s all too easy to miss.
The OP isn’t the only player to have struggled to find this item.

In case you’d like to make this discovery for yourself, the OP has kindly detailed where to find it.
We won’t share those details here, though, just so as not to ruin the surprise for anyone who prefers exploring on their own. But the link is in this article, should you want a step-by-step guide.
And now we resume our normal activities, one of which is to debate the Reaper reveal none of us wanted but that we got anyway.

Wait until the new game – the discourse will really start up in earnest then.
