This year has treated us to some incredible titles. From Elden Ring to Horizon Forbidden West, and Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles: Shredder’s Revenge to The Quarry, 2022 is packed full of stellar titles for all tastes - and the year is only halfway done.
With six months still to go, there’s plenty of time for a couple more Game of the Year contenders to enter the mix with Forspoken, The Callisto Protocol and possibly God of War Ragnarok all still on the way before the year is out. That being said, my mind is already racing ahead to 2023 and I’m thinking about one game only: Marvel’s Spider-Man 2.
Check out the incredible reveal trailer for Marvel’s Spider-Man 2 below.
Insomniac Games are keeping pretty tight-lipped on the project for now, but this latest update is great news for MCU fans as Davison Carvalho has been hired as Marvel’s Spider-Man 2’s art director.

You may be thinking, huh? Let me divulge. Carvalho is a talented concept artist having previously worked on Captain America: Civil War, Doctor Strange, Thor: Ragnarok, and Captain Marvel. This means that Carvalho’s art has had a real influence on bringing the visuals of the MCU to life. As such, it’s possible that Marvel’s Spider-Man 2 may visually be infused with that MCU aesthetic we know and love, even if the two universes aren’t directly linked.
A few months ago, gameplay details for Marvel’s Spider-Man 2 seemingly leaked online. The leak suggests that main missions will alternate between Miles and Peter, with players choosing who they wish to play as during free-roam and side missions. The leak also claimed that there would be a third playable character, thought to be either Venom or Yuri.
Until anything is confirmed by Insomniac, this has to be taken with a pinch of salt but every time I hear something about this game, I get more and more excited.
