With Marvel’s Spider-Man 2 just a few weeks from release, Peter Parker actor Yuri Lowenthal has announced he has plans to play Spider-Man forever.
Unless you’ve been living under a rock, you will know that Marvel’s Spider-Man 2 is set to launch on 20 October. The highly anticipated sequel to Marvel’s Spider-Man and Marvel’s Spider-Man: Miles Morales will follow the web-slinging pair as they take on some well-known enemies such as Venom and Kraven. With the third instalment in the series set to be as thrilling as its predecessors, it’s no wonder that Lowenthal has no plans on stepping down as Peter Parker.

Speaking on ComicBook.com’s Phase Zero podcast, Lowenthal revealed that he would love to play the role of Peter Parker for as long as Insomniac Games will have him. With Peter being such an iconic character, he also revealed that he didn’t ever expect to get the role and no matter what the future holds, he’s happy with the work he has done so far.

"I'll be honest, I'm just excited that at my age they still let me play Spider-Man, or that they ever let me play Spider-Man in the first place," Lowenthal revealed. "I'll do it to my dying breath if they'll let me because I love it so much. I love working with [Insomniac] so much and I love what they do. And I just got to say, I love playing Spider-Man. It is the best. I'll do it forever if they ask me to but I also understand if at some point they're like, 'You know what, we're going to have to switch gears.' And I'd be like, 'You know what? I had a good run.' Not everyone can say that they do what I get to do. Even if it ended today I'd be like, 'I did that.' But I also hope it goes on forever."
With Marvel’s Spider-Man 2 expected to be bigger and better in every way, it won’t be long before we get to see Lowenthal’s portrayal alongside Nadji Jeter as Miles Morales. The pair will reprise their roles as the Spider-Man duo on 20 October exclusively for the PlayStation 5.
