Marvel Studios is looking to recast Jonathan Majors following assault allegations, an insider has claimed.
As reported by CBR.com (via The Direct), Jeff Sneider of The Hot Mic podcast claims that discussions are taking place between Marvel chiefs on the prospect of replacing Jonathan Majors, who played Kang the Conqueror in Loki Disney+ series as well as Ant-Man and The Wasp Quantumania.
Naturally, Majors is also set to play Kang in the MCU going forward. Following the demise of Thanos in Endgame, Kang the Conqueror is set to be the new big bad in the MCU. However, Sneider has also suggested that Marvel could be looking to the likes of Damson Idris (Black Mirror, Snowfall) to fill Kang’s big boots.

“Even though there hasn't been any movement on the Jonathan Majors front, I've heard that's the kind of actor, who, like, if Jonathan Majors got the boot as Kang, someone like Damson Idris is the type of the person that [Marvel] may look at to replace him if that, in fact, happens,” Sneider said.
It’s reported that on 26 March 2023, Majors was arrested in New York City for alleged domestic assault against an unnamed 30-year-old woman. The actor has claimed his innocence, while Major’s attorney says that the accuser has recanted her statement.
At this time, Marvel Studios hasn't officially addressed the allegations, but Sneider claims that “they've met with or spoken to his agent to discuss potential options going forward.”
What’s more, as mentioned in the article from CBR, despite charges not being made against Majors (at the time of writing), the actor has been removed from recent promotions for the home release of Ant-Man and The Wasp Quantumania.

It remains to be seen what the future holds for Jonathon Majors in the MCU, especially with Kang featuring prominently in season two of Loki as well as the upcoming movie, Avengers: The Kang Dynasty.
