Marvel 1943: Rise of Hydra isn’t doing a brilliant job of reminding people that it’s due to land this year, but it is.
I have to say, it’s easily one of my most highly anticipated titles of the year.
Developed by Skydance New Media and set to be published by Plaion, Marvel 1943: Rise of Hydra will take players to World War II.

There, they’ll join Steve Rogers / Captain America and Azzuri / Black Panther, as they attempt to put a stop to the ever growing Hydra.
Amy Hennig is one of the masterminds behind the game who you may recognise as the creator of Uncharted, so that certainly bodes well.
What we’ve seen of Marvel 1943: Rise of Hydra so far has been very impressive, with the game making use of Unreal Engine 5.
That being said, as incredible as the character animations have proven to be so far, I would like to see some gameplay.

Take a look at Marvel 1943: Rise of Hydra in action below.
You don’t need to listen to me hype the game up though.
Azzuri himself, actor Khary Payton, is also doing just that.

You may know Khary as Ezekiel in The Walking Dead with the actor soon to take on the mantle of Black Panther.
In an interview with TheDirect, Khary said, “We’re still working. We’re planning on 2025… We’re thinking like a Christmas situation. But I'm so excited."
The 2025 window isn’t new but the ‘Christmas’ tease is.
Of course, this feels like something Khary definitely shouldn’t have announced and until an official launch date or window is confirmed by Skydance or Plaion, it’s worth taking this tidbit with a pinch of salt.

It’s nice to see that the actor is hyped though because this project has major potential and I’m desperately crossing my fingers in the hope that that potential will be fulfilled.
Perhaps if the game is planning a Christmas release, it’ll surface during this summer’s showcase season, maybe at Summer Game Fest?
Let's wait and see.
