Spider-Man is going to be getting some extra lives (and deaths) according to a new tease from Marvel Comics.
Everyone’s favourite webhead will likely be dying quite a lot in his next comic book arc, but that’s okay, because sorcerer supreme, Doctor Doom (yes, you read that right) will grant Spidey some new powers.
Marvel is back on the big screen next year with Thunderbolts*
If you’re not up to date with everything Marvel, Doctor Doom is the new sorcerer supreme, taking over from Doctor Strange.

Doom will play a big role in the next Spider-Man arc as Spidey has to go up against the God of Destruction, Cyttorak, who creates eight enemies for Spidey to deal with.
These new enemies will be some of the most powerful foes Spider-Man has had to deal with and the chances are high he’s going to kick the bucket several times.
But that’s okay, Doom to the rescue!
Together, Doom and Spidey create a new suit for Peter Parker to wear that will grant him eight lives to use up during his battles.

Hence the title of the arc - The Eight Deaths of Spider-Man. Thankfully, death means nothing in comic books nowadays, and it’s going to mean even less when Peter starts respawning like Mario.
The new suit does look dope, though. It appears to be a metal suit with a red cloak (it oddly looks a bit like Spawn) still utilising the web patterns of his usual suits.
I suppose, if you are going to go up against a God with any powers, you might want to have Doctor Doom on your side. That dude has been through it!
This new arc goes on sale on 13 November and will last several issues. The story will be written by Joe Kelly (Deadpool & Wolverine: WWIII) who is joined by artist Ed McGuinness (Hulk).
