In a recent interview, Margot Robbie said she is keen to see Harley Quinn and Poison Ivy's romance on the silver screen as part of the transformed DCU and accompanying canon.
Batman: The Animated Series set the scene for their eventual relationship, as Harley meets Ivy when she's booted from the Joker's crew and decides to pull off her own heist. Some episodes after that, Harley and Ivy are living together and the start of a romantic connection is seen when Ivy pays another woman a compliment and Harley is jealous.

I want it too," she said, and added she would be happy to see any actress step into the role opposite her. "Honestly, when I pictured, I always picture like Poison Ivy in the comics.
