DC fans have been given their first-look at the new Batman in James Gunn’s DCU, which pairs nicely alongside our look at the new Superman.

Yesterday the teaser trailer for Superman: Legacy dropped online, and speaking as someone who’s not a huge fan of Superman it looked like perfection.

It’s going to be the true beginning of James Gunn’s DCU, but technically it’s already begun via the animated TV series Creature Commandos.

Creature Commandos is kind of like the Suicide Squad but before the Suicide Squad was a thing.

They were mainly active during the Second World War and feature monster-like characters, like Frankenstein’s monster.

The new TV series is an animated-comedy with a cast consisting of The Bride, Weasel, G.I.Robot and more.

In the series we thought we actually got a glimpse at some new characters joining the DCU, one of which was Batman.

The Batman could be seen in a horrific vision of the future, which features several heroes, Batman included, impaled on spears.

While we can’t glean any similarities to real-life actors, mostly because his face isn’t very visible, it does seemingly confirm Warner Bros has a white actor in mind for the role.

If Superman: Legacy is the true starting point to James Gunn’s DCU perhaps there’ll be a few nods to Batman in the film.

After all we’ve seen in the trailer that superheroes are active as the Man Of Steel is making his debut, as we see Hawkgirl, Green Lantern and Mr Terrific in the trailer.

Maybe a post-credit scene will show our new Batman watching the story unfold from surveillance cameras, or perhaps it’ll be as simple as a board meeting at Luthorcorp dropping a Wayne Enterprises name-drop.

Personally, I simply can’t wait to see the World’s Finest share a screen together again as the DCEU left me wanting much, much more.
