Man Of Steel 2 with Henry Cavill finally in development

Man Of Steel 2 with Henry Cavill finally in development

Henry Cavill will return as Superman in Man Of Steel 2, a new report suggests.

The DCEU is very chaotic. There, I said it. It doesn’t necessarily need to go to Marvel’s extremes by outlining its slate for the next three years but still, it would be nice to have a fraction of an idea about where things are heading. Black Adam is on the horizon, followed by the now rather controversial The Flash and Aquaman And The Lost Kingdom.

The DCEU is lacking a big event though. Justice League came and went. What’s next? I’d love to think that there’s a big plan, but it sure does feel like the DCEU creatives are making things up as they go along. It’s certainly fueling a lack of momentum but there is some good news as finally, Man Of Steel 2 has entered development.

Check out the trailer for Black Adam below ahead of the film’s release this Friday, 21 October.

The Hollywood Reporter has detailed that WB Discovery has an “intense desire” to see Cavill return for Man Of Steel 2. According to the publication’s report, DC are already seeking out writers for the sequel. Considering Man Of Steel was released in 2013, I think we’d all like the news to be a little more concrete than this but hey, it’s progress. We’ll take it.

The report by THR also details other goings on in the DCEU underworld. James Gunn is reportedly looking to make another DC film, and Matt Reeves - director of this year’s The Batman - is supposedly talking to filmmakers about plans to expand his vision of Gotham’s Rogue Gallery into several film and TV series.

There’s more. After confirming that Cavill will return as Superman in Black Adam, Dwayne Johnson is keen to push the idea further, creating a Black Adam versus Superman film plus J.J Abrams is also reportedly interested in joining DC on a project. This all sounds exciting, we just need to see something spring to life now.
