There’s no denying that when it comes to video game difficulty, famed developers FromSoftware is right up there with the best but in turn, its difficulty rarely feels unfair as it encourages the participating player to improve for the next battle.
Games such as Armored Core 6: Fires of Rubicon, Bloodborne and Dark Souls will test the metal for just about any player. Don’t get me wrong, most of the time, FromSoftware has me raging when I get my backside whooped by a challenging boss but in the next breath, I pick up the controller to go again.
Check out Elden Ring: Shadow of the Erdtree trailer below!
That difficulty is a magic that only FromSoftware truly knows how to deliver with many other developers trying to replicate that spark. One of the most recent entries from the Japanese development studio is Elden Ring, which just benefited from its highly anticipated and critically acclaimed expansion, Shadow of the Erdtree.

In our review of the expansion, we said: “Elden Ring: Shadow Of The Erdtree is a fitting conclusion to FromSoftware’s biggest, and most-successful title to date. It guides the player by the hand into a brand-new world of mystery and intrigue, treats them to some of the most memorable fights in the series, and rounds things off the only way FromSoftware knows how, leaving you wondering what the hell just happened.”
There have been reports across social media of some gamers complaining about the difficulty of Shadow of the Erdtree, which if they’re familiar with FromSoftware, then the challenge should come as no surprise. Nonetheless, Elden Ring publisher Bandai Namco has provided helpful tips to assist players exploring the Lands Between.

One gamer who seemingly took the difficulty of Shadow of the Erdtree to heart is Twitch streamer, Kai Cenat. While on stream, Kai Cenat seemingly hired a therapist after spending around 40 hours trying to defeat the expansion's final boss.
Sure, hiring a therapist may have been part of the Twitch show for his 11 million followers, but it has got us all talking. That being said, as reported by Dexerto, something worked because, after just under 100 hours, Kai Cenat triumphantly defeated the end boss of Shadow of the Erdtree.
For the average Elden Ring gamer, therapy would be out of the question, especially as in our weird way, that stress which will hopefully lead to success is all a part of being a Soulsborne fan.
Elden Ring: Shadow of the Erdtree is out now on PC, PlayStation and Xbox.
