Shadow of the Erdtree has arrived

Today’s the day my fellow wanderers of the Lands Between, it’s the Elden Ring: Shadow of the Erdtree expansion launch day which means that millions of gamers are going to be unceremoniously killed (in-game, of course).

When Elden Ring was released in 2022, it instantly became yet another hit for famed developer FromSoftware earning a score of 96 on the aggregate website Metacritic and awarded with the “Must-Play” accolade. Now, its highly anticipated expansion, Shadow of the Erdtree has arrived with big shoes to fill.

Check out the Elden Ring: Shadow of the Erdtree launch trailer below!

In our review of Elden Ring: Shadow of the Erdtree, we said it’s: “a fitting conclusion to FromSoftware’s biggest, and most-successful title to date. It guides the player by the hand into a brand-new world of mystery and intrigue, treats them to some of the most memorable fights in the series, and rounds things off the only way FromSoftware knows how, leaving you wondering what the hell just happened.”

To coincide with launch day, the latest patch for Elden Ring has been released. Update 1.12 for Elden Ring adds new features such as newly obtained items now being marked on the map with “!”, new Summoning Pool features such as active Summoning Pools carrying over to New Game Plus, and you can finally summon Torrent during the Elden Beast boss battle, and more.

What’s more, crafted consumables can now be used in the PvP colosseum mode and new language support has been added for Arabic. Of course, there are also a whole host of other bug fixes and quality-of-life improvements made with update 1.12, regardless of whether you’ve picked up the new expansion or not.

Update 1.12 comes in at around 6GB to 15GB depending on the platform. Elden Ring: Shadow of the Erdtree is out now on PC, PlayStation and Xbox.
