Hogwarts Legacy is officially here. Well, for those with a PC or new-gen console who’ve paid for one of the more expensive editions of the game, that is.
Although many gamers are choosing to boycott Hogwarts Legacy in order to avoid supporting Harry Potter author J.K. Rowling (who has been criticised for making harmful comments about the transgender community), others have been full of praise for the game. In particular, over on Reddit, some believe that Hogwarts Castle itself is one of the greatest in-game locations ever.
Take a look around Hogsmeade in Hogwarts Legacy below.
“Hogwarts is the greatest interior space ever created in a game. And it's not even close,” Junior_Swordfish_974 said. “I’m not a Harry Potter fan and have played games for 30 years and still this castle has left [me] awestruck and dumbfounded. And from what little I've [seen] of the outside, (Hogsmeade) it's not far behind.

“Sometimes[,] something has so much love and attention put into it that it transcends having to be a fan of something to be blown away by it and just ‘get it’ and enjoy it on its own merits,” they continued. “Avalanche knocked it out of the park.”
Others are in complete agreement: “I was extremely worried that the castle would feel small or empty, due to how much they emphasise the rest of the world surrounding Hogwarts. Luckily, it turned out better than I could've hoped for,” agreed Dintodo. “My experience has been, ‘omg, what a beautiful area! Wait more stairs here? Omg, the stairs keep going! Look at all these floors! More doors? They all open! Wow… just wow,’” wrote BFMeadowlark. “It's incredible. I'm blown away by how good of a job they did on this. They fully deserve praise,” added MapleBabadook.
If you’ve not got early access to Hogwarts Legacy, there’s still not long to wait until you can play. On PC, PS5 and Xbox Series X/S, the game releases on 10 February. On PS4 and Xbox One, it’ll be out on 4 April, and on Nintendo Switch, it’ll launch on 25 July.
